Tows - Rides - Instruction
Scenic Glider Rides Rides run second weekend
in May through second weekend in October. All Rides Contingent
on the Weather. Rides allow one passenger per sailplane with F.A.A. Certified
Pilot.
Sailplanes are towed aloft by a power plane to an altitude
of 9,000 to 9,500 feet, and then released. As you soar like an
eagle back to the glider port, you will be able to see the beautiful
San Juan mountains, around 100 miles of scenery in any
direction, plus the Animas River winding through the valley.
$95 for approximately 25 minutes
This ride can be taken any time during the hours
of 9:00 a.m. and 6 p.m., 7 days a week, with weather permitting.
Soaring conditions are smoother in the morning before noon and
more thermal activity in the afternoon. Maximum weight per
passenger is 260 pounds.
